The mission of the festival is to cultivate people’s awareness of their surroundings, the city and landscape they live in, the people, current topics and events, as well as their own reactions to them. We aim to highlight the potential of public space as a place for new experiences. LAF aims to spark curiosity and support culture and art even in a smaller city. We build a foundation for Slovak artists and bring inspiration from abroad.
Our vision is to show different generations the places they (don’t) encounter every day in the city, to “reconstruct” them through art, and to prove that contemporary art is not as incomprehensible as it may seem. Often it is enough to look at it, and at everything around us, in a different light.
