Audio-Interactive Installation by Veronika Šmírová Presented at a Festival in Norway
Slovak multimedia artist Veronika Šmírová will present her interactive installation Lines (2019) at the Factory Lights Festival in Norway from 21 to 22 November 2025.
The international premiere of this work is made possible through a collaboration between Trenčín 2026, the Light Art Festival and the Factory Lights Festival.
The site-specific installation Lines works with horizontal space and vertical lines that respond to the viewer’s movement. Visitors become part of a living “musical instrument,” referencing the ancient concept of the music of the spheres. Introduced by Pythagoras, this theory suggests that all objects move in specific rhythms and resonate with their own unique vibration. Each line in the installation carries its own tone, which is activated and transformed through the movement of visitors.
The project was originally showcased at the Prototyp Festival 2021.
