“Growth” is an audiovisual immersive mapping and sculptural installation celebrating the collaboration between Slovakia and Norway, as well as the long-term development and cultural heritage of the Bodø24 and Trenčín26 projects.

The installation draws inspiration from the flora of both partner countries, including wildflowers. The Norwegian Liverleaf (Hepatica) and the Slovak Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla) share a common symbolism of spring, transformation, rebirth, and love. By emerging from the cold soil during the early signs of spring, they remind us of the natural cycles of growth in the environment.

Much like humans, plants cooperate and communicate with one another. They utilize electrical and chemical signals, interacting through their unique frequencies. The sonic component of “Growth” incorporates frequencies beneficial to both plants and humans, serving as the primary inspiration for both the auditory and visual aspects of the installation.

In creating this work, the authors explored fundamental questions: What frequencies support the growth of plants, people, and mutual collaboration? What is the frequency of sustainable growth?

“Growth is commissioned by Trencin26, LAF and Bodø24 legacy.

Part of collaboration between Factory Light Festival  (FLF) and Bodø24 legacy from Norway and Trencin26 and Light Art Festival (LAF) from Slovakia. “Growth” highlights UN sustainable development goals No 17 partnership for the goals and no 15 life on land.
