Activities for families during LAF
Are you planning to visit the Light Art Festival with young children? Then we recommend an artwork designed especially for them, located in M. R. Štefánik Park. The piece Spooklings by Slovak artist Matej Mazák offers interactive fun – children can play with it using their voice to scare away the creatures.
On both Friday and Saturday, starting at 19:00, there will also be a playful presentation at the installation – a 30-minute “vernissage” for children guided by Martin Daniš from Divadielko Maťo.
This year again, children can enjoy activities from the festival map. In addition, you’ll find coloring pages in our partner gastro venues, where kids can draw while you enjoy some glowing treats.
You can also join workshops in the Curiosity Workshops, where you can create shadow theatre performances or make your own glowing artworks. On Friday, don’t miss a special workshop at LUMó HUB, where you can print textiles with neon colors and create simple accessories.
You can also visit the Miloš Alexander Bazovský Gallery, where you can paint with light or see the current exhibition by Stano Filko. The Michal Rešetka Public Library will also be open, which you can visit on Friday from 21:00 to 22:00.
That said, the entire festival is enjoyable with children. Outdoor and indoor installations alike offer engaging experiences for visitors of all ages.
